If you have an Interactive Brokers account, there’s one entry point you’ll use more than any other: the Client Portal. It’s the “bank side” of your account — from there you see your reports, deposit money and withdraw it. And there are three ways to get there, depending on where you want to log in from.
What the Client Portal is
Interactive Brokers calls it by several names —Client Portal, Account Management interface or simply account management— but it’s always the same place. It isn’t the platform where you send orders (that’s TWS), but the administrative side of your account.
From the Client Portal you check all your trading reports, deposit new capital and withdraw whatever you want to take out. These are exactly the day-to-day operations that aren’t done from the trading platform.
Way 1: from the official website
The first route is Interactive Brokers’ official website. In the video, the address is interactivebrokers.ie/es. Once there, click “Log In” and choose access to the Client Portal. You’ll see that you can enter live or paper trading: you enter your username and password and confirm the two-factor authentication that arrives on your phone. With that, you’re in.
Before typing your username and password, calmly check that you’re on the official address and not on a similar-looking one. It’s a habit worth having whenever you enter a broker’s credentials.
Way 2: from TWS
If you already use the Trading Workstation (TWS), you don’t need to open the browser separately. You log in to TWS as usual —username, password and two-factor authentication— and, in the top menu, you go to Account and choose the main account management page. Since you’re already logged in, TWS detects it and takes you straight there, without asking for your username and password again. The video shows the classic version of TWS, but the route is practically the same in the others.
Way 3: from your phone
The third option is the IBKR Mobile app, available for iOS and Android. You download it, log in with your username and password and, normally, confirm with your fingerprint. Inside the app, access to account management is organized differently —transfers in one place, orders in another and settings separately— but you end up in the same places as on the computer.
Three routes, the same destination
Official website — Log In, Client Portal, username, password and two-factor authentication
TWS — Account menu, main account management page, without re-entering your credentials
Mobile — IBKR Mobile app, username, password and fingerprint
And if you need help with your account
If you ever get stuck with logging in, with the two-factor authentication or with any account task, remember that by linking your account to ProRealTime you get a personal account manager and support in Spanish. We explain how to do it in this article. And once you’re inside the Client Portal, the two natural next steps are depositing money and withdrawing it.
Conclusion
Logging in to the Interactive Brokers Client Portal is the first thing worth mastering: from the official website, checking the address carefully; from TWS, without typing your password again; or from your phone with IBKR Mobile. Pick whichever is most convenient at the time — all three take you to the same place.
